Stone chips

What is the best solution for small stone chips? Is there a pro that can touch these up? Or do you just wait until you get enough of them that they really bother you and just repaint the hood?

If there's a lot of chips then waste your time and get it painted and get a clear bra, if there's a couple stone chips a good car detailer can touch it up nicely.

Clearbra or wrap your car with vinyl. If you're a diy person, you can save alot.

For lots of small ones try Dr. Colorchip. I bought some and didn't believe it worked, but it's pretty good, especially if you only have a few distinct ones that you want to remove. It's not so good on a large area that might have some road rash. Here's the link...

Also, search is your friend. Here are some other posts on the subject.

However, as others have said, if you have really big chips or an entire area it's probably better just to get a respray and clear bra it. I highly recommend the clear bra after you get it painted because you WILL get more chips if the paint is unprotected.

I just ordered it as well, so hopefully will find some time in the next few weeks to try it out. Will post results. If it doesn't work for my situation, I'll have to get the front resprayed for sure. Driving me nuts!

Has anyone got any feedback yet? Good Stuff? Difficult to perfect? Waste of money? Any feedback would be appreciated!

I hate to say it but the best way to prevent stone chips is stay back from other vehicles.

I repainted my MZ3 a few years ago and had it clear bra-ed. The good news is the clear bra works the bad news is the stone chips re appeared everywhere else
