WA BMW Concours Pics

July 2011 I purchased my sapphire black 08 M5. A few weeks later I participated in the local BMW club concours and took first place in "big cars" which is where they put us. I crushed the competition - I think I can say that given that I was the only entrant in my category. Having the car fresh from the dealer meant it wasn't so hard to prepare.

This year, Killer-Bimmer, wasn't going to let me walk away with the swag without a battle. After a year of driving I had my work cut out for me too. I logged about 25 hours over the week prepping my beast, burning through Griot's products and late night hours like I was a billionaire and they were pennies. A few Blue Moons along the way kept my dedication lubed.

Yesterday I edged out a second win over Killer-Bimmer and his space grey beauty, but it was close. Looking over our cars it appears the only difference was half of a (thankfully) unidentifiable finger print on the left side headlight just prior to judging. Not sure how that might have gotten there.

Lots of awesome cars, though for some strange reason when I went home I only had pictures of mine and K-B's cars.

That would be awesome. Griot's M car day is on August 19th. I am going to the Jim Hall Kart school in CA, so can't be there. It's fun - you should go! I know Killer-Bimmer will be there and hopefully others.

Nice pics, How do you get the background image to blur? Photoshop or what settings on your cam?

Yeah, that's that "make it look like a toy" photo style that's all the rage. Looks pretty cool I think.

Go here: tiltshiftmaker.com - Transform your photos into tilt-shift style miniatures and you can upload, process, and download the new picture for free.

Enjoy!

Marlon, there were so many nice cars there. Did you take pics of anything other then the E60 M5s? If so please share. I'm sure there were more cars that showed up after I left. Please share more pics.

There were lots of really nice cars of course. I got there, prepped my car, had a judges meeting, and spent about two hours judging. I found that after looking quite closely at about ten 3 series cars, looking for specks of dirt to differentiate them, when I did my walk around I was a bit tired of looking at cars, so didn't take any other pictures. I need to learn to do that first when there is still a wow factor.

I have more pictures of my car though! You know, in case you want to see more?
