I'am starting to think on my post E39 life and a E60 Touring with manual gearbox and the right spec. (never avail in Europe) feels very appealing to me - time to start looking .
True, but the E61 wagons were only available with xdrive in the US (535xi or 535 x-drive) and the MSport packages were primarily cosmetic (no stiffer shocks/struts/springs/rollbars). So, not equivalent to a E60 535i MSport and certainly no where near as much fun as a E60 M5.
My wife's car is a 2010 MSport E61 and it is fun to drive, but nowhere near as much fun as an E60 M5. A lot less feedback as well.
Unless somebody with a good bit of money buys a touring here and does a swap....I am sure it can be done.:wroom:
