6 speed FTW!!

My only problem with it, as I've mentioned before, is the terrible stock gearing.

To make the 6 speed 'competitive' to an SMG equipped car, it needs 3.91 gearing and a raised rev limiter.

***BTW... has anyone figured out a fix for the ABS (or whatever it is) kicking in when dropping the clutch from a standstill?

I havn't fealt any intervention with DSC OFF since I did the update to allow full DSC off, though I have never tried a complete burn out..

I did rev mine up one time and let the clutch go see what it would do. I had DSC completely disabled and it spun for about 30' and then you could feel the power cut until it gained traction. Completely a different feeling than doing the same in an E39 M5.

The SMG had disengaged because you were going too slow. If you had hit the brakes it would have held for you a second while you reapplied gas. Instead you revved it up and it slammed into gear.

I had similar experiences when I first got my SMG. Once I learned how to use it, I have no issue.

I can see why you and others feel this way, but once you get the hang of it, you like it.

The only thing that bothers me is the D mode gear selection - the 2-3 shift always comes too early. So I just drive in S most of the time - problem solved.

Another 6mt checking in...
Monacoblau metallic (A35): 35 = 1 of 35

I never even considered the SMG. Autos are way too boring. I had a Merc AMG and sold it I was so bored to tears. Luckily BMW offered the 6mt. This is my 3rd 6mt BMW.
