[[HELP]] CEL light CODE P0492<----Anyone knows what it is??

Hi guys ~

recently received CEL light along with P0492 + P0128.

Car is 2006 E60 M5 build date 11 / 2006

I did some advanced search but results were bit confusing . I found out that P0128 is a O2 sensor related problem and for

P0492 there were different replies ~~ Anyone knows what is casing "P0492"??

Also I have a basic OBDII reader and was wondering if "Peak Code reader" is something more advanced reader ? Is it??

Also is it better to have DME reader????

Anyone who knows anything about this CEL , I would like your opinion .

Thank you in advance.!!

Drive safe.

fault codes stored in your car,
go to garage to repair it or try get a code scanner to clear the fault codes,
BMW INPA K+CAN allows full diagnose of BMW from 1998 to 2008 cars.
have a look.

I thought I was typing into another thread. When I hit post I realized I was not in the aux fan e39 thread. It happens at 3000 post you get sloppy.
Anyway have you got your problem figured out? I do understand what your codes mean just not sure how they apply to an E60. If it was an E39 we would have you fixed up already.
PM me I don't get to this board that often.

Have you replaced the sensor? I threw those codes twice this week. The sensor will be my first step in troubleshooting.

EDIT: I didnt realize the thread was old, but it might be useful for someone else in the future
