battery warranty

So my battery was replaced in Jan of 2010 and just yesterday my SA tells me I need a new battery and there is only a 2 year warranty on them. Do you guys have any advice on getting this covered?? It seems wrong that a battery only last 2 1/2 years....sucks...

Well typically batteries should last longer than that. But your service advisor is right BMW parts and labor only carry a two year warranty. So you just missed it about five months. I would look into why it didn't last so long? Maybe you got a dud battery or something is causing a strain on the battery?

Did they code your car when they replaced the battery telling it received a new one?

If only 2.5 years old I would try this first: http://smartercharger.com/battery-chargers/#CTEK Multi US 7002 and if it does not work you'll have a great charger to keep it alive much longer. I have now used for over a year and have recovered at least three different batteries with it. If you keep this car stored for more than a few days I would plug it in. They have a nice plug that you can permanently connect so you can just plug in quickly: http://smartercharger.com/products/a...mfort-connect/
