My SA tells me that Meyle makes high quality parts and he uses them on his own car. I went with them bases on his recommendation. I will let you know after installation.

I would love to step up to the monoball set up, but this is a cheaper option now and I am hoping it will serve its time for a bit. The monoball will have to wait until the budget is bigger. I hope to report back on the new set up once I try it out.
What is the part number?

Could worn bushings be a cause for some slight vibration from the front end? I've had my tired balanced, rebalanced, then rebalanced again by a second shop and we still have some vibrations above 60 mph. Should these be the next thing to check out? 2006 with 44k miles

Absolutely, worn bushings would give you these fits, along with the ends of the control arms being bad. Also what may help is to road force your wheels/tires as sometimes out of round tires can make you go crazy too. I hate when the BMW's start having that dang vibration, sometimes its difficult to pinpoint and you have to take baby steps to find the cause. I have had my share of the bmw vibrations on other vehicles.

GOOD LUCK!

Can someone please help me understand why the entire control arm must be replaced when the bushing wears out? I know they are pressed in but it seems a bit much to replace a perfectly good control arm ?

There is a ball joint on the other end of the control arm. I have read and agree that the front bushing can be replaced the first time, but the second time around, the whole arm should be replaced as the ball joint more than likely will be bad by then. This is one reason why I think the monoballs are a bit much. It only solves half the problem. I'll be replacing the bushings myself when the time comes. Meyle sent me a free set.

I heard that one of the downsides to a mono ball kit is its exposure to water. They say for track use it's great but as long as you don't drive in the rain. Does anyone know if this is true. I heard two different race mechanics say this.

My car has 90,000 kms (just over 55,000 miles) on it and I decided to replace the arms and bushings for two reasons the arm with the HD bushing in it costs $137.00 and the bushing alone is around $50.00. Add in the cost of installation and the fact that there are question marks regarding the use of the existing arms with replaced bushings, it was a no brainer.

I am waiting for my rear stoptech brakes to arrive and then take the car in to have the arms and the brakes done at one time. As soon as I do I will certainly report back on how the feel versus how they are now. I am looking forward to an increased feel and no more shaking under hard braking.
