What do you think of these headers? Friend is selling them.

What do you guys think of these headers my friend is selling from one of his client's pervious M5's? He told me he'd let me have them for $400. Only thing about these they don't have the V-Band clamps so you can't switch back and forth with cats easily, you would have to remove the whole header and put the original ones back in. If I got these I'd be able to keep my factory/original set which I think is a plus also.

My second question is, is anyone running Evolve's header tune? I spoke with RK Autowerkes I guess they are the new primary contact for U.S. Evolve customers but they said they would be able to put the O2 sensors in a "ready state" instead of a "not ready state". Reason why I ask because my state Texas does emissions testing by the OBD port and last thing I want to worry about is passing the yearly emissions test! If you have more than one "not ready" for your emissions system you fail.

My last question is for the ones running headers right now, how is the fuel/rich smell in the exhaust? Is it overbearing where it comes into the cabin's ventilation system at a stop light or anytime while stationary? Or if you have your driver's door open you can clearly smell it? I've been around some modded mustangs, 135i's, etc. and the fuel smell was so overwhelming it gave me a headache.

In regards to the smell, if you're behind the car it is to say the least strong but I have never smelled it within the car. I do sometimes smell it as I come to a stop and the window is open but nothing like over bearing.

Also $400 is a steal.

I got the same setup with the Evolve tune and no problem with the Check Engine light. As far as the smell and sound, I have a convertible with RPI GTs so both was too much for me (burning eyes at stop light with top down). I ended up putting the stock section 1 back on and the secondary cats got rid of the smell and lowered the sound to a reasonable level. Not much powerless either. Its a steal for $400. Good luck!

Looks like I'll be pulling the trigger on these! What do you think a reasonable price will be to pay my tech friend at work to install? I know its a 10.5 hour job according to our system at work.

Not sure on brand wise, my friend told me that the owner had them taken out and sent to a shop out in Atlanta that specializes in things like this. I'll inquire more about it and post it up!

Ok great that's just one of the things I was worried about, worst case scenario I could just purchase RPi's high flow cat section 1 pipes.
