Have them flush the current differential fluid. When they do it, have them look at the fluid to see if there is any metal, or metal shavings in the fluid. If so, then your Diff obviously has a problem - it is breaking.
If there is no metal in the flushed fluid, then as a precaution, have them take a look inside the diff and make sure everything is ok, no cracks, etc.
If everything is still ok, put in new differential fluid, go through some of the break in procedures for new fluid (approx 30 tight figure 8 turns). Drive for about 600 miles.
