First of all you guy's are great. I learned alot from you and I hoped I helped a few on the board. Please read this and learn from my mistake, I'm 63 and have been retired for 5 years. Yesterday started out like most days. I got up and around 11 am I was at a local Mexican resturant and bar. I've been going there and doing the same thing day after day. I have 2 marg's and order lunch to go and play the video games. I never have more than 2 drinks and make sure I've been there for 2 hours before I head for home. Two drinks and 2 hours I should be fine right. Wrong!!!! on the way home I noticed that the gravy was leaking out of the container and reached over and put it on the floor. I looked up and I was headed for a parked truck, no time to hit the brakes or steer out of the way. The M5 is totaled. I felt like I had just lost one of my kids. Then the cops show up. I'm a little dazed from the impact but other than that I feel ok. They make me blow into the meter and I blow a .144. I can't believe it. Of course I'm arrested, but the worst thing is I've sent another M5 to M5 heaven. So please do not drive your M5 if you have had anything to drink. I hate to think that there are no more of these wonderful cars left on the road.don't do it. Thanks for reading this and please learn from my mistake. Thank god I didn't hurt anyone.
sorry for your loss.... never ever mix drinking with driving thats what i say.... well good part is your well thats the important part car is replaceable but life is NOT......feel better and hope everything is fine and RIP E60 M5 ;(
Sorry for the loss, but thank god you didn't harm an innocent soul. I am a recovering alcoholic and know about getting behind the wheel impaired. I was a menace to society. Learn a lesson from this and NEVER drive with alcohol in your system again.
Wow! Your story puts things in perspective. It doesn't take much. Thank you for sharing, what must have been, a very difficult day on an emotional and physical level.
