Wow - that really sucks. Unbelievable. Can't believe all that from a speed bump. Keep us posted on your progress and when you get the beast back on the road.

put it this way when he hit he said yeeehawwww! man im so suprised that a stupid speed bump could cause this much damage. from the pic of the speed bump i would say youd have to be going at least 70 to actually make your chain skip holy moly man! good luck bro at least you have insurance.

Yup, not a particularly large speed bump for Chicago streets.

Assume I was going as fast down the street as I would have been without a speed bump being there, 35-40?

It was at night, dark. And I was in conversation.

I will say. I remember hitting it and thinking... Ohhhh ****....

Then realized my car was no longer running.

I rolled to the stop light in the pic, and sat there.

Tried to restart it a few times. Pulled the batter cable just in case, tried again. Then quit. Called a tow truck company and they towed it away.

I dont have every moment of those few seconds exactly still in perfect memory With it being 2.5 months ago, now, and when it initially happened, assuming something this bad and even anything that would require an insurance company never crossed mind.
