As far as I am aware, unless Jim bought the exhaust directly from TopSpeed - this is not one that came through Jeff, so I am unsure if it is the exact same?

I bought it from the Texas shop Top Speed, through this group buy. They contacted me directly.

Having an exhaust shop take their time installing is important. Thinking of having the cans and tips powder coated black before install

Bought mine from John at Top Speed last Christmas for $700 shipped to Hong Kong. Top-notch service.

Fitment wasn't perfect but my mechanic patiently spent an entire afternoon installing it.

The sound is more similar to an E-Sport and deleting the resonator really helped bring it to life during WOT. I intend on deleting the secondary cats to make it just a tad louder.

Painted it matte black to hide the uneveness of the tips.

Overall pretty satisfied in terms of bang for the buck! Good luck to all those purchasing.

Just curious, how does HK handle the inspections for exhaust modifications, and any emissions?

They're pretty strict with everything except for suspension and exhausts.

Quick review for those considering the Top Speed (eBay) exhaust:

1. I purchased it directly from Top Speed in Texas through their eBay store to make sure it's covered by a warranty.
2. The first unit I received didn't fit. The tips were all crooked. It looked terrible despite the efforts to adjust it. I ended up paying extra $$ to get it to fit so I could drive around until a replacement was shipped (the OEM had already been cut off).
3. Called Top Speed with a complaint. I think they only agreed to replace it because I purchased it through eBay so it qualified for buyer protection. After they offerred a replacement they added that all of their exhaust have some problems and "that's what I can get for $700 instead of $3000."
4. The second set was a little better but I still had to have a muffler shop re-weld the brackets/hangers to make the mufflers line up.
5. The sound is nice at cold start, has a lower than stock rumble at idle but not much difference at WOT. Certainly nothing like the their marketing video.
6. Conclusion. Considering the extra $400 I had to spend to make it work and considering minor sound performance improvement I don't think it was worth it.

I was in the same boat. However I had a shop cut off and re weld the Tips on the exhaust. Neither of them had correct spacing. I had them custom bend some pipes however, from the secondary cats back to waken it up. The noise level is perfect while driving. No drone but when at WOT it really wakes up. I also bought it off of E-bay. The exhaust WILL take some modifications to fit properly. I spoke with a guy named George Laflour. He gave me the same line of thats what you get for $700 which is BS and I expressed that. He also told me about your experience and how they sent you a new exhaust and went on telling me these were AMERICAN made and all hand made... If I knew this was the case and I had to modify a brand new exhaust before I bought just to make it fit I would HAVE NEVER BOUGhT THE EXHAUST. I did however get them to give me $170 bucks back off the exhaust. My conclusion is the same. No way would i recommend anyone to get one of these exhausts. Save up and get a quality piece. Total waste of money and time...

Your *****ing about a great exhaust for only $650 shipped. Get over it. Yes you'll need to have some welds redone, a least you'll know it's exactly how you want it to fit in the end and for oval tips it didn't set you back 3k.

Not to mention that the sound is freakin' perfect. After driven with this exhaust for a few hundred miles, it has deepened a bit, and is now even better sounding than before. I don't regret the purchase in the slightest. My net spend was well under $1k, and it looks and sounds perfect.
