You should visit Monterey and Carmel although I don't know any great/unique restaurants there. There's a Chart House near Cannery Row but that's a chain and you guys have them in SoCal too (in Hermosa Beach I think). When I'm there, we usually just go to the pier at Fisherman's Wharf and eat at one of the seafood restaurants like the Old Fisherman's Grotto: Old Fisherman's Grotto Seafood, Steak and Pasta Restaurant in Monterey California. Monterey is famous for their clam chowder. Also visit Carmel and cruise down the Ocean Ave where you'll find lots of boutique shops, cafes and restaurants. Then hit 17 Mile Drive to enjoy the scenic views.
(I'm sure you've probably done some of these things already but just in case....)
Thanks!
I haven't been there since I was a kid! I'm definitely going to do that. That restaurant looks good. Best part is, I'm tracking again at Laguna Seca in June after this weekend, so if I miss it, I'll have a second chance.
Glad to see cooler heads prevail. For those who don't know: Voice any opinion you please. Resort to personal attacks at your peril. Use Report Post under any post, if the need arises.
While I'm here I can share my (boring) GTR story. Stopped at a Chick-fil-A during a road trip. Spent my $5-6, sat down to eat. Saw a GT-R park. Both of us had far-out-of-state tags. Pass his table on the way to wash my hands, because greasy hands my beast cry. Say "Nice car!" His reply: "Your M5, right? Nice car!" Proceeds to tell me about how he just got it, and is headed to Sebring to see what she can do. So yes -- I was envious, and rightly so.
Hopefully no one here runs across an Alpha 12 GTR. That thing is no joke.
Who cares I still love my M5 so its fricken reliable Im yet to see a gtr with 216k. We still drive luxurious Beasts at the end of the day, and seat 4 comfortably.

Yes. I had both. Unless you're past 120mph, you're not keeping up with a stock DBA GT-R or even a modded GT-R.
My modded (Pulley, Scoops, Dinan Stage 2 Suspension) M5 could not keep up with my stock DBA (facelifted) GT-R. Sorry. The additional mods that my GT-R will be getting after I return from Laguna Seca this June will put it well past an F10 and even S/C E60 M5. And, those mods aren't much.
Plus, no offense, as much as I love the E60 M5 and love the sound of the S85 V10, please don't think that the E60 M5 is a world beater anymore. It was a great car in its prime, but it's old news with the F10 M5. I loved mine, but when you can pick one up for ~$30k, they're not special. I see more "new" douchebag M5 owners speeding all over the place like they have the fastest/best car ever, but they picked up their 2006 for $35k. There are two sides to the coin.
I agree with you to a certain extend...but frankly as far as the product is concerned here...i would bet that most people would rather buy a six, seven or even 10 years old BMW M5 than a similarly aged Nissan GTR....even an E39 M5 still has a great presence.

I don't know. We haven't seen it in the US yet, as this is the first time the GT-R has been offered here. Only time will tell.
Well lets see a update with this fool in jail. Check out his other videos....Now I understand what nipamg means but these types of ppl are seen with any type of car. Ego trip pin. Man that one vid of him in NY, doesn't he understand thats how taxis work in NY, Sigh.......Some ppl just need to go "IN" to learn the hard way.
