ProClip

I didn't have a good place to set my iPhone in my car - I don't like it in the available spaces for various reasons - change tray, in the door, in the door handle, etc, didn't want to buy a snap in as I need to be able to see it while driving every now and then. Also wanted to be able to easily run a charging cable from the phone to the power plug in the passenger footwell.

Bought the ProClip Console Mount and the Adjustable Holder with Tilt Swivel. It is a bit pricey for what you get at around 70 bucks for both pieces, but the mount is perfect. It doesn't require cutting/screwing/etc in the interior in any way, and holds the phone in the perfect position. The phone slides in easily with one hand, and is in there snugly, doesn't rattle or move around under hard cornering/acceleration.

Device Holders and Dashboard Vehicle Mounts*-*ProClip Car Mounts for Mobile Phones, GPS, and Handheld Devices - no affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

Highly recommended!

Cool, looks good! Only thing I would be worried about is if the phone goes flying under heavy lateral g's. I usually wedge my phone in the passenger seat between the rear and front adjustable bottom cushions.

Y - I worried about that too, but it's very snug - you can adjust the width, and the sides have a slot cut into them for a secure fit. The other good thing about it being adjustable is that it will work for future phones as long as they are a similar form factor.

Thanks for the info. Good to know that no screw in is required.

I just added a Proclip 1-2 weeks ago, but I got the one that sits near the heated seat controls near the lower dash...its freaking awesome, I also ran a hidden charge cable. Phone is Tmobile Samsung GS2. Nice job sharing this post with pics!

Phone and wallet stash options are limited in the E60. I usually use the shelf in front of the screen, but in the M5 it keeps ending up on the back seat...probably not an issue in a 528 :-)

As you say, you want your phone easily at hand so looks like a functional resolution. Since the sides are adjustable, are you able to put the phone in with one of those slim protector covers still on?
Update: Never mind - I see you can order a holder to accommodate a cover.

In addition I am looking for a longer usb connector cable to enable running itunes and pandora. Know where to find that?

Y - in fact without one of the slim covers, it's a bit too loose at it's smallest adjustment. It's actually better with a slim snap on cover or the Apple bumper.

I bought one on ebay for the exact same reason. Ran it from the plugs in there, around the back of the plastic bin in the armrest, along the side, then out and over to the pro clip mount. Works great! This is the one I bought:

If you have an iPhone - and probably others that are sillier shape and size. I place the iPhone between the parking brake and the center console, horizontally. It never moves, fits perfectly, and when I set the brake to get out it reminds me to grab the phone. Hope this helps.
