It did to me too but they were more than honest every step of the way. I have to assume they had no idea. It's not a ridiculously low price but it is definitely on the lower end of the spectrum. Truthfully I think many people are asking a little too much for their cars as I was shopping casually for 6 months and almost all of the cars that were there when I started looking are still for sale.

You get these cars with any kind of real mileage on them and I think they take a huge hit in price. Most cars aren't easily warranted with over 70k on them and most aren't able to get ANY warranty if they have over 80k. So for me I won't consider any cars with over 70k. I have to imagine other buyers of this type of car are equally as cautious and thus the price of those cars starts falling exponentially after the 70k mark.

The dealer said that even at 26k the response for the car wasn't overwhelming.

That's the car. I don't think they're trying to pass off the car as being ok. They never took the ad down after I bought it last week so it's not as if they put the car back up for sale. I think they still just haven't taken the ad down.

You know for the right person this might be a good car and I bet they're willing to deal on it. It is a one owner car with full maintenance records and BMW maintenance through 2/12. The car was literally in mint condition. For someone with a little more expendable money than me it's still worth the price to buy it as-is for a discount and pay to have the pump put in.

That is way too high, I paid 35k for a 2006 with 49k miles. Or maybe I was just a good haggler

What exactly does bmw maintenance cover? Or is it the equivalent of paying for volcano insurance?

Sorry to hear your story but happy that you got it all resolved and were able to return the car. I have an 08 for a daily driver about 100 miles a day and love the car. I personally have had no issues with the can and i don't exactly baby the thing. Anyways good luck with your search. I would suggest if you want an M5 to get a newer one like others have recommended. I feel it isn't the best idea to get first gen cars because they still have some kinks to work out.
