So just to follow up---is there anyone that can handle this in the Ft. Lauderdale areas? In July. Will be down there for school reunion. I don't really trust the local dealer in Pensacola. They act like you're a problem everyone you ask for specifics.

got the euro smg software done over Memorial Day weekend. Met Vodyk in PA, he coded my car, and have been happy ever since. No issues what so ever, and the SMG is much more tolerable. Great mod!

Vodyk,

You seem to be THE authority on the Euro flash subject...
I have a bone stock O6 beast (with the exception of a very nice 3m Matt Black vinyl wrap) that I am interested in having flashed.
If I were to be able to get the car to you, what would be the total cost for you to do this for me and how long should it take? I have to drive up to Maryland for a family reunion the first week in August, so it might not be too much of a stretch to make it up to PA.
Feel free to PM me... I don't have enough posts to PM you yet (every time I have a question I search the board and someone else has already asked it and answered it... I love this board).

Thanks in advance,

Okay so just to sum it up again we know 2006-2007 m5's can be flashed with a regular k+dcan obdII cable and 08+ require ICOM cable for the flash.

but what about M6's?? is it the same with the year ranges an cables required??

Definitely seems to be the case which given how similar the 5/6 series are I would guess they are the same. However I wouldn't waste my time with regular k+dcan software. Not worth the wasted time / effort if it fails. Pretty big paper weight!

However as I have done for others if you do get a failed flash you can remove the smg control unit and send it to me.

Probably sound like a broken record but you can send it to me. I promise all skill level of DIYers have removed this unit with little effort.

agreed, so whats the best source for a reliable ICOM ?

I've done 4 06 M5's and 1 06 M6 coupe so far no problem with my K+DCAN. Can the convertible M6 use the same #ZB as the M6 coupe?

I haven't tried 07's but they should work as well with the K+DCAN. Anyone in NJ/NY/CT and wanna be the guinea pig?

Hey guys

Local tuning shop up here in Canada wants $500 Canadian to do the Euro SMG tune - I think this is steep. Anyone paid this amount for their Euro SMG tune?
