Dave T, did the error ever go away? I'm getting ready to try this DIY, once the part gets here, so just wondering if the error went away or what it was.

Thanks!

Well, I guess I need to get a set of Mechanics gloves, as I, like others, tried for a while to get the clip off, and didn't have success. Can't get my finger squeezed in there, so maybe the gloves will help give more pressure. I'll try that next, but any other tips on getting that off. I've been out of town for so long, and my beast has been sitting for so long, I've missed driving it and need to get this done!

Yeah, I read this, and tried to reach over where I thought you were showing, but couldn't seem to get 2 fingers around the Clip. Did you use 2 hands (one over the alternator, and one to 'pull' on the plug? I may have to go back to this route, and see if that is any better.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark, I honestly don't recall if I used two hands or one.

I do recall giving it a forceful-tug!

i just used one hand, as you push the clip release tabs, push slightly in and then try to slide the connector out while continuing to press.

Flashing dash

Hey guys.
My beast has 57k and just started having these symptoms. Caught me totally by surprise with the loss of function on the road, scary moment yet remained in control. Idled fine but would act up when hot and high revs. After three hundred bucks for diagnosis, the dealer recommended a new aternator for 1600 and further diagnosis with no guarantee of solving the problem.

Big thanks to all for posting this thread. I'm going to attempt the voltage regulator exchange so now im trying to find a source for the part.
Any suggestions would be great. The dealer wants 270 bucks.

Was it registered correctly? Under or over Voltage can be a bad regulator. I'd first check to see the battery was registered properly as there's an intelligent battery aensor
