I have an 06 and it doesn't have a usb port in the back of the center console or may be I'm not looking in the right place. anyone have a pic of where it is located. One other thing if I burn a dvd with mp3 files will the nav dvd play them and will it display the list of songs on the nav display. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Are you sure you looked in the right place? I thought they were standard. Maybe not, but they should be on a car that costs this much.
My '08 has one, and that's mainly what I use for music. If you open the center console, and then lift the inner hinged plastic thing with the lid so you can get to the bottom, the USB and AUX ports are against the front wall. It's almost impossible to plug or unplug anything while sitting in the driver's seat, however. The console lid is in the way of your right elbow so you can't use your right hand, and it's buried too deep to easily use your left hand. Go figure.
I thought the Aux port at the rear center console came out in 2007. As for USB port, was that not located inside the console? For some reason, I thought I saw a post with a picture of the USB port (2008+ MY) in the center console area when you lift it up. Could be wrong though. I don't think 2006 had either, though.
Thanks for the help everyone. Thanks to the pics above I found the two square holes that look like a USB port could be installed and below that a hole that looks like a RCA jack would fit. I took it to the dealer and he said that he would see if there is a kit to make them usable. Should have an answer in a day or two. Will post the answer then and the cost should anyone be interested.
I just got a call from my SA and he said that the ports in the console were a factory installed option and there is nothing to make them functional if they wasn't installed at the factory. He said that the only option is the I-pod interface that replaces CD changer at a cost of $505.00
My build date is also 7/7. No USB, CDC, iPod adapter, or Satellite radio. I'm the only car that I ever heard of that doesn't have any of these options. It's not my top priority right now, but it does bug me. I think I'll look at the Denison thing..

Are you sure the CD changer or ipod adapter should be way back in the glove compartment. When you put the idrive in entertament mode what options come up.
I looked at my window sticker and it has a 6 disk changer as a standard feature. I don't think they would make it an option 2 years later. I"m out of ideas unless some one stole it.
I tried to burn a DVD with a bunch of MP3's and put it in the NAV player and it said it couldn't read the disk, never thought about trying it in the CD player. I'll have to try that and see if the CD ch anger may read them as well. Thanks for the info.
