E60 M5 waitlist

I just put my deposit on the 2005 E60 M5, and to my surpise I was number three on the waitlist at a medium size dealership. Oh well, I am very happy! Can't wait to get into it, whenever it may be!

Allocation

Did the dealership tell you whether it had any allocation yet from BMWNA? When I spoke to my dealership a month ago, they were not taking deposits.

odd

When i went to my dealer ship i was only put on a list .. no deposit for the M5. I was told that there is no real list to be put on and i would be contacted asap as soon as they have more info about the M5 but until then its just a contact spot for when the 545 is released and get more info as to what they will M. I also heard as for the V10 and all that thats its no go right now. Nothing is know until they release the stock version so they can M it.

Jim,

Why were you asking about deposits? I thought you were looking to keep your e39 for the long haul.

I'm #6 on the list for the M6 at my dealership (same as Jim's if he's talking Moritz). No deposit, they just called their customers they thought would be interested and started a list. I don't know if I'll take advantage of it though. We'll have to wait on any number of things before making that decision, but it looks to be a couple of years off anyway. I can think of about a billion things worse than just keeping my current M5!
