Has anyone changed interior on the car because they were bored with it?

I have an 06 M5 and I'm the original owner. Has anyone put new colored seats and door inlets? Not just changing of the wood paneling but a drastic change to the inside of the car.

I did on my last car. Went from Tan interior to Black. Swapped out: F/R seats, carpet, center console, all interior trim pieces (hatch included), custom suede headliner, dash, seatbelts... fun project.

Alex M, That is exactly what I'm talking about. It looks great. So you bought the leather yourself and had someone else upholster it?

Gustav, I think the best looking part of the E61 is the trunk. I really like the red also.

I am looking at this at the moment - my worries are:

1. I have the fully extended option so I have the stock colour on my lower dash that is stiched into the top black. So I would have to swap the dash, have them unstitch and restitch... or my latest thinkng was they could dye it black.

2. I am also looking at swapping the front seats to sports/bucket recliners (e.g. Cobra Misanos or Recaro CS or A8's). I have not found a full right up for this so it's a bit of an unknown of how and IF I should proceed (plus I am more after the weight saving).
I'd have to consider how the seats are mounted, the airbag/seat belt sensor (which I think I can by a plug that tricks it on Ebay) and the fact I am changing luxuries like fully adjustable, active, heated seats!!

3. I am also not after anything adventurious or trend setting, but more after a 'stock factory lightweight motorsport package' look and would consider one colour like Champagne, Magnolia, Tan or a really deep plum red same colur stitching.
