max width for 20inch wheels

I decided to buy the wheels for my Beast, but one quick question to ask before i pull the trigger, what is the max width tires can you put on 20 inch wheel without having them sticking out of the fenders? the size for the wheel is 20*9 with 10mm offset and 20*10.5 with 20mm offset. i know i need to run spacer but what is the max width?
thank you for your input in advance.

A couple things.
Why do you say you know you must run spacers? If the wheels are built properly for your specific car there should be NO need for spacers.
That is an axiom I adhere to. I do not believe in spacers. IMO it can also disturb the geometry of the wheel hub and focus of stress.

Standard rear wheel widths for M5's is 10.5" or 11". Again the offset of the wheels has much to do with thw dimensions.
Now I experimented in the rear with a 12" width but do not recommend it because it requires other specifics to be addressed.
The offset had to be exactly nailed in building the wheels. The correct negative camber (inner tire wear suffers). Tire used is a 305/30/20.
The fronts are no particular issue. Again standards are 8.5" or 9" running a 255 or 275 tire.

I'd recommend a 10.5" or 11" width with a 305/25/20 tire. No problems at all.

A couple pics of my set up with 12" wide rears.

Cheers
Ranger

Thank you m5ranger for clearing that up for me. I was trying to buy the wheel from Vivid racing, the corforged wheel that was on Their matte green m5. What is size of your wheels and tires? What kind of tires do you recommend on those wheels?

He said it very clearly: a properly designed wheel doesn't need ****, no spacers, no nothing.
You may need a spacer with an OEM wheel, but with an aftermarket, 20" wheel, no.

Ranger a 305 on a 11'' wheel will have no issue on a stock, lowered car? I was planning on getting a 295 on a 20x10.5'' wide wheel as I thought that would be safe. I would not mind a 295 on an 11'' wheel if that would also be safe. I am kind of afraid to try a 305. My car was rubbing slightly when it was on eibachs, stock wheels, 12.5mm spacers and kumho escta spt tires. I don't want to spend all the money on wheels and have it rub again, so I want to be careful. You seem like the resident expert on this subject, having had so many different setups on both of your M5s.

We run a 10.5" or 11" with a 305/25 rear tire.. this avoids any fender modifications or headaches for the owner "bolt on fitment"

I am running custom offset HRE's with 11.5" rear with 305 tire. Car is lowered on H&R springs with no rubbing issues at all even with full load in the back.

Good to know. I am hoping to get a set of 20'' P40s for next season and I am trying to research what sizes and tires to go with. What tire is on your car ranger, is it a T1R? I was thinking of going that route myself, how do you like them (if that's what you're running)? They are cheaper than the comprable Pirelli and Michelin, but how is the performance? Also I was planning on running a 295/30 but the T1R doesn't come in that size. I am a little nervous about the combination of a 25 sidewall and Boston roads.
