I think all will be well, just wait and see. It will definitely look different, but then the E39 5-series already looks a bit dated (but is still beautifull), so it has to be changed soon.
Remember that car-styling in Europe is more progressive than in the States (best example: changing the tail-lights on the Maserati GT Spyder from special 'boomerang style' to ordinairy 'Golf style' just to adapt to the American market.

Personally I hope the E60 will look modern, agressive and with a slightly less pronounced bootlid......
