Kees: I don't think this has anything to do with being a new member. We need to know so we can avoid this dealer.

I believe waiting until the matter has been resolved is counter productive because this dealer will continue business as usual screwing customers left and right. I'm sure the OP is not the first customer that has been screwed by this dealer, it just happens the OP came forward and shared his experience with us. The dealer has already expressed reluctance to help the OP and make him a happy and satisfied customer, so why let him continue with his wickedness?

IMO, any existing and potential new customers need to be aware of this dealers antics, it's the fair thing to do.

That's my belief and I'm sticking to it!

Not true. I have really all the posts from the beginning and have given comment several times. The only posts I have missed were the ones deleted by the moderators. I have not done any "detective work" to find out the dealer. I still do not know the name of the dealer, and it will remain that way until the OP puts out the name. People, please stop telling the OP to name the dealer. He will do it when its right for him, not for you.

I already know the name of the dealer. I saw it during the mission statement posting incident.

I am saying this because this incident occurred 4 weeks ago tomorrow. That tells me it is highly unlikely that the threat of revealing their name broadly is going to incite them to act. That game is 4 weeks old, and it is clear the dealer doesn't care.

If the owner wishes to apply market pressure via the auto enthusiast community time is almost up. Anyway, 4 weeks is the limit of my attention. I'm unsubscribing here. Good luck OP! I really hope you get a fair settlement, and I hope you also share with others who it was to save other M5s from being abused.

I completely respect the OP's choice to keep the stealer's name private. On the other hand, I am also respected among friends and colleagues for my general automotive knowledge and specifically BMW knowledge. This info can not be kept secret.

My wife just graduated from UTA with her BS in Nursing. Two of her classmates decided on BMWs as a graduation present. I cannot and will not keep this story to my self when guiding others in purchasing a BMW. One is buying a touring and one is getting a Z4.

Neither will be purchased or serviced at the crash dealer.

It will continue to cost them in any way I can direct.

I actually don't take my car in to the dealer for things like oil changes or minor things because I don't trust my car there. I only take my car in if I asbolutely need to. I have a great indie BMW shop in Chicago that I'm glad I found

It is unfortunate that the crash dealer does not understand the power of these forums and word of mouth. Imagine how much this incident has cost them already because of their inaction. These stories usually spiral into an urban legend and no amount of PR will help. I hope the OP is made whole with an appropriate replacement plus a little something for the deception the crash dealer tried to pass off on him.
