Glad to see this put to rest as it must have been such a pain in the side for the last 16 months. I hope you can move on to a newer car if you have not done so already

Not sure yet. It is safe to say because of Autobahn and how the BMW NA situation went I won't be in another Bimmer.
don't blame you in the least!....stuff happens and its how you handle it afterwards that counts....and they dropped the ball badly!
just think all this bad blood & bad press could have been spun into something VERY positive for all parties...

funny, how the simple and easy details get missed!
Autobahn has decided not to appeal the court’s decision. After 16 long months this ordeal is finally over! My entire case is now public record and it is a very interesting read.
Any chance of getting a case number and which court this was in? I'd like to look it up.

Autobahn has decided not to appeal the court’s decision. After 16 long months this ordeal is finally over! My entire case is now public record and it is a very interesting read. You will be very surprised in how BMW dealerships conduct their service business and how they hire service "technicians". I use this term very lightly. There is so much BS to this story that it is too much to write here. But, Autobahns only defense was; They were not responsible for what their employee's did, tried to low ball my cars value to argue it was not worth fixing, and argued that I should have filed a claim on my own insurance! Seriously???
I always assumed that because my car was an M car it would be handled by an M mechanic. This is not the case. ANYONE can service your car, even a guy that is not "certified" tech. The guy that serviced my car failed multiple M car certification tests. He had been there for a few months with little experience. ANYONE can test drive your car. Again, the guy that test drove my car new nothing about the car or normal BMW functions. I think someone already posted his officail statement on this thread as to what he said happened. It’s just ridiculous!
Another tidbit. Classic BMW in Dallas actually hired the guy (Aaron Skates) that wrecked my car within weeks of the crash. They actually knew he crashed my car when they hired him! The Service Director at Autobahn called the Service Director at Classic when he found out to verify they knew this information. It didn't matter, they kept him. Not sure why but evidently he was let go about a month later. Who can you trust?
Lessons learned...Use an indy shop if you can and always state "not authorized to test drive without me in the car" on the service slip when signing the release to do the work. Protect yourself.
I hope this case either helps someone from ever getting in this situation or helps them in getting justice.
Thank you,
Tommy
I'm shocked any of this is a surprise to you....especially the "certified" parts...they just feed you that to lull you into a false sense of security.
