555 hp / 500 torque / Twin turbo
vs
507 hp / 384 torque / NA

It must be the weight issue on the X5 M but turbo??.... Interesting!

I was surprised as well. But at higher speeds the M5 really goes thanks to 7 speeds and the X5M is really large. However it was much closer to an BMW M3 DCT / DKG we raced.

Wow that was not close at all. I expected the X5 M to hang better than that.

the x5m's only advantage is from a dig. Take that away and it's over.

Lot's of weight, wind resistance, and torque converter issues to deal with.

Not surprised at all. But it's nice to see an SAV can at least "hang" on an airstrip with supercars. The tire chirping around the first turn was not pleasant either.

I disagree. Any NA, RWD, High revving, manual M car is a real M car

I wonder how much faster the X6m is than the X5m is then, because i recall a few members claiming that the X6m can hang with an M6 coupe up until about 130mph, which of course does not seem to add up after watching this video, which is the M5 estate which is both slower than the M5 saloon and quite a bit slower than an M6 coupe.
