Welcome brutha, to the BMW E60 M5 Ownership Experience.

You will soon find yourself a slave wholly-owned by the oil and gas levels of your automobile. Depeding upon your driving style, you will find yourself filling up the fomer every 400 to 2000 miles and the latter every 180 to 360 miles.

As an exceptionally strong upside, you will find yourself looking good doing both these activities.

Search the board for best prices on the specialized 10w-60 oil - which you will find nowhere near where you live except for the BMW dealership (who will rob you for the convenience) or online- and get yourself several. Put one in your trunk as a backup and store the others in your garage or other storage-type facility.

You can buy logo'd oil bag if this will make you feel any better about it.

Yeah, I always carry extra oil. Note that you can get the oil cheaper but that said, the dealer price isn't THAT bad -- well at least not in my area. I mean you can definitely get the oil much cheaper but just saying it's all relative.

I recently posted a thread on this saying everyone should buy a quart and keep it in the trunk - you will need it sometime!!

Grab the factory BMW oil bag off ebay for $6 to carry your extra bottle of oil.

Thats why it has an oil gauge also, she is a thirsty beast and like all fluids

We were all new and noobs once and some of us are still learning, don't be afraid to ask away or use the search facility
