M5 Assembling the Ultimate Driving Machine

Found some pics of the production of an interlagos blue M5.

I think it is nice to see how all these great parts come together and make one of the best cars ever built.

I always like seeing pics of BMW's assembly lines.
Is the M5 built in Dingolfingen by any chance, or in Munich??

Yeah the M5 the 5 series, the 6 series and the 7 series are built in Dingolfing.

It is just about 100 miles away from me but I've never been there.

But one day I will take myself some time and visit it

You are in Austria?
Nice!
I went to Salzburg and Innsbruck a few years ago, a beautiful country and nice folks you have there.

looks like the first photo shows a blue flame coming out of the exhaust. curious if anyone knows why the proximal part of section one (up to the secondary cats) is spared from glowing red?

I can't beleive an engine can get that hot without exploding. Maybe it's just the glow of the headers.

That first photo is very interesting.
Looks like a test stand of some sort-looks like tons of diagnostics, sensors, etc.
They surely don't do that for every M5 engine they assemble??

I would also be interested to know, do they do that test to every engine?

Gustav, do you know?
