Looking to purchase a 2006 M5. Is 64,000 miles to high with a additional 3 year warranty? Thoughts?

Any thought would be appreciated. Car is immaculate but the mileage is giving me second thoughts. Pricing is just under $40k. Any thoughts from M5 owners would be appreciated. Clutch was replaced around 50k.

Now buying high mileage cars is not my cup of tea, another thing is that the car is an M5, and the early year M5 have had major Red cog issues. the most important thing about your purchase is what kind of extended warranty is it, meaning is it a bmw warranty or an aftermarket warranty

I agree with logpak23 however not all old models are bad so i suggest you look into its service records. And if turns out clear of trouble then go for it with a piece of mind since still has 3 years waranty towards it.

Thanks guys..i read the car fax and it appears the clutch was replaced awhile back..it would be an after market warranty. Something is making me hesitate on this deal..Just seems high but the price is enticing.

Hesitating usually makes for trouble. If you're not a 100% sure perhaps it is best not to do it and simply look for another m5.

Dont get me wrong, Aftermarket warranties can be great, but the major problems that can occur in the M5 such as clutch and transmission issues and other service components can run a lot, and some aftermarket warranties wont help you there. Im not saying that the car will run into a major problem, but you must be prepared, the price is great, and you must also make sure it is a legitimate dealer preferably a BMW dealership, but with a price like that im guessing it is a secondary dealer, make sure they are reputable, and can back up the sale. if you PM a price range i can help look around for you as well
