squeak sound from engine bay

Hi guys i wonder if any one encountered my situation, one week ago i started to hear low squeak sound from the engine bay, like a squeaky belt it only occur on idle and weirdly the sound go when i rev it, meaning it doesn't get louder by revving the engine, even when on idle i only can hear it from outside the car and once i step inside i cant hear it anymore. the car drives fine.

i suspect its my pulley since i have Rouge engineering power pulley however i had it since one year ago without any probe, could it be that the pulley gave up now?!! im nervoues now because i dont want the situation to get bigger. appreciate your thoughts.

once more update for the concerned m5 community, car was in workshop since yesterday got a call today telling me that RE supplied belt with there pulley kit installed one year ago is in sever bad shape. the mechanic told me the quality of the belt is so bad and can't believe such thing can go on a bmw let alon high revving m5 engine.

i hope RE hear about this and change their belt supplier for a better one.

for now he will replace it with a better quality one and hope things get back to normal.

wish me luck.

You are always welcome to ask me bro, cause I've been though almost every possible problem an M5 could have since 2003.

I had this problem with my Rogue Eng pulley on the E39 and i ordered two sets. Thats why they are called "rogue"

Thanks ur20v & ahmed, well the squeak sound on idle is gone but only to be replaced by knocking noise when applying throttle on takeoff or while in N, the mechanic told me they couldn't find same size belt so they replaced it with one littile bigger in size, car runs fine no hesitation , CEL light or limp mode, but the knocking was noticed upon arriving home and i got frustrated, car is parked for now till saturday morning im sick with this situation, will re install the stock pulley and belt if sound still there will take it to stealer.

Wise decision habiby... now go and order the Evosport or Rpi pulley... there are tons of used ones on teh classified section. Or you can just order new belts for the RE.

Good luck bro!
