Howdy folks,
I have been lurking here for over a year, thought I might as well take the plunge and join.
Looks like a class act Gustav has hereabouts and I am happy to now be a part of things.
No V10 M5 yet, but I am thinking pretty hard about an 06 or 07 Beast, hopefully in metallic gray.

Ashok,
your experiences with the earlier E60 tranny problems are the very reason I am hesitant to buy an '06 M5.
I suppose I could find one with an extended warranty, but I am much more inclined to go with an '07 or later.

08 got the LCI treatment (Life Cycle Impulse - FYI b/c I had the same question). You'll notice that 08s+ have different door panels and LED headlights and tail lights. Its worth it to get an 08+ since you're going used (for reliability reasons and those above).

The 2008 models don't really have LED headlights, but the "rings" are lit by a brighter bulb, so they are actually used as the DRL's (instead of the inner headlight). The inner headlights are actually used with the adaptive cornering lighting system. As mentioned, the taillights are different on the 2008 models. They remind me a bit of the "tubes" seen on the 6 series taillights. The door panels and the lower part of the center console are updated as well.
Overall, the 2008 updates are nice, but only if the price difference isn't excessive.
