Does a 3.91 diff require software?

I'm just curious if it does, how does the computer know the proper RPM to rev match downshifts if you change the final drive ratio?

Is software required? No
Would it be nice if software fixed wheel sensor speed for MPH and redline/rev matching? Yes
Is software available from anyone? No
Does it make the car a little more jerky, not only with shift but the downpull from the engine? Yes

I'm just saying it nicely before someone else does. Lot of information already on this topic on this forum.

The plus side is it smooths out that slow slow FAST FAST feel going through the rpms.

With the 3.91, software is not required but i'd definitely recommend it so that you can raise your rev limiter to 8400 essentially negating any loss of speed in the first few gears, while giving you enhanced acceleration
