Toss....take it to Prosport in stockport, manchester , they will do it for less than that and the workmanship is same if not better than Bmw ,i just had my Eibach springs/RPI exhaust fitted by them 2 weeks back , my impreza P1 is in there now for a 2.35 conversion ...having use them since 2002 .
They are primary subaru specialist/rally car preparation(have their own rolling road/dyno )...but like all good mechanics they can service any make/model
the head mehanic use to work in the ferrari dealer, I often see porsches/lotus/noble/Ferraris there for maintenance work .

Ring them for a Quote (0161 432 9999), tell them Mike ( black E60 M5/P1 sent you)

ps........ it not an easy job for the Diyer, also the shock it self is very very expensive , try Ebay for second hand ones as they often pops up .
but as i said ring prosport ...highly reccommended ( they will not rip you off )

If you have changed shocks and springs on any car, then you should be able to handle this job. Otherwise, leave it to a professional.
I agree about checking eBay, owners switch to coilovers and sell the OEM shocks. Post "Want to Buy" on the For Sale forum of this board.

Clyde......I have change shock/spring on my wife's Focus(that took me all day/nite !!) , but i would never try to on my M5, best leave its to the pros...as they might end up cleaning up the mess you make anyway

Here are some DIY instructions from this board:
Advice on installing aftermarket springs?
More DIY information can be found by searching:

The rear springs are much easier than the fronts
