Exclamation Weird sound when turning right when cold. Please give advice!!!

Hi guys, I have this problem for over 2 weeks and each time when my car is cold and when I only turn to the rigt side (steering wheel nearly at max right) I hear this weird sound a little similar to squeaking. Its like coming from the rear diff. Anyone have an idea what actually it can be? I know our m-diffs are automatic and hope its nothing serious than only a normal voice coz its cold. Would appreciate your help guys. BTW if u ask my driving style; I do like 10to20 small drifts(1st and 2nd gear drifts around corners, junctions etc.) in daily driving but who doesn`t? Actually I never harm my car like some idiots doing burnouts at each red light or burning rubber at still position which harms the transmission. Thx alot aready for your help guys.

Yeah I took an appointment from the dealer for this Friday just after I posted here. Hope it will be solved by only changing the fluid, coz my car is out of its warranty and would be pretty costy to have a diff changed. Thx for your help guys. Just the thing what I dont get it is, why does the sound occur when turning only right but not left, thats pretty confusing...

I doubt that someone can give you an exact answer, but the many M5 and M6's have this issue only on right turns when the car is cold.
Believe me,your diff is ok. The diff is one of the hardest parts in an M5 . Our cars in eastern Europe incl. Turkey and Bulgaria have only 2 years warranty and are very expansive to have after that

Best regards

Well its not that much alot when you consider that this is an M, made for sportive driving conditions. If it was a 530d with an lsd equiped maybe you could say it is much. And its small drifts what I do at speeds of 60-80km\h and all what I can do with the road\traffic situation here. I dont go sideways for 50-150 meters at speeds varying from 140to200sth. km\h like in D1 GP. If I can manage to go sideways doing 140km\h for 10-20 meters in this traffic here only by a chance for maybe 2-3 times a month than I consider myself the luckiest guy here in Turkey Btw which M owner doesnt go sideways? Even the most noob M driver goes and can go sideways with a minimum of 30degree angle; as I have seen untill today all M drivers mentioning to do it or not they do go sideways a bit or even more, even most who dont know how to drive they do it on the straight while accelerating based on the powerover technique. The LSD causes going sidways thats whats the LSD is made for, improving your acceleration\cornering\stability\total control of the car etc. and for all those who thinks like me and thinks that LSD is only made for; going sideways as much as possible!!! So my advice to M owners; go have fun with your M cars within your own limits (without crashing it), otherwise whats the fun of owning one?

So there is traffic when u drive the m5 and no traffic when in the P1? Nice paradox

Well I dont know about the russian guy`s post u r talking about here; havent seen it but it seems u r trying to mark me here as a traffic monster which im not or have never been for the ones who wonder. But lets get back to your subject.

I think your bighead is not clear enough. Prefering an AWD japanese plastic toy which like came out from a kids` cereal box to a RWD M car when it comes to go sideways? unless u want to go sideways like on surfaces like snow. If so u must be a big joke . Dont even try explaining me the subaru coz I have driven\owned for more than 3 years a 480*WHP EVO IX before the M5, had many subaru owner friends around me which I do know very well that it fails at drifting against an Evo. I was drifting my Evo like hell every available space I could and those days i was thinking it was the best car in the world untill the day I got behind the wheel of the M5 and said(apologize me but this is what i exactly said): Simply F"**k the Evo and rest -The end-

For preferring the p1 *for going sideways u should really love your m5 so much that u cant risk it at all and risk the p1(which i respect u for it) or you dont have the skills to drift\handle the 507bhp on the 2 rear wheels of the beast and found out that u cant drive nothing else than a japanase plastic so called miracle toy box with power distributed between 4 wheels unless u mention going sideways like on snow conditions or having it modified to rwd like the subarus in D1 Grand Prix which I assume u havent coz u didnt mention.

In conclusion whatever your car is there is and will be always a beter one but its not gonna be the '99 1994cc 4cyl. DOHC AWD P1 to the M5 for sure especially when its for going sideways. No matter what modification 500bhp or 1000bhp subaru that even can pass the m5 these are 2 different car classes that cant be compared in anyways; to think it as simple as possible; one of them is a car from a toy box and other is a beast. I would really have kept my mouth shut if u said a 200sx or sth. else similar but come on m8 be serious PeeOne to M5?
