Pretty good trade in offer?!

Hey guys so I am thinking about getting out of my 2006 M5 and possibly into an e92 M3. I went to my local dealer to get a trade in price, which i figured would be a low ball like usual. He offered me 50k. What do you guys think about this price??

Here is some info on my car:

2006 M5
19k miles
Alpine white/ Indianapolis red
Extended leather
HUD
7 logic sound

Basically it is fully loaded and in MINT condition, not a mark on her

I know I could probably get possibly 53k-55k privately, but if i trade in I will also save on half the taxes on the new car, so it basically comes out to 53k minus the hassle of selling privately

What do you guys think??

I would take the 50K and run. There are some board members trying to sell low milegage examples with 7/70 warranties that are not moving at 50K. AGAIN, TAKE IT AND RUN!! There are 2006 M5's CPO with 20-25K miles that are being offered at 48K at local BMW dealers and are not moving. Did I advise to take it and run?

Sounds like a great trade in price, but that is only half the transaction. What is the deal on the M3? Is the dealer making it back there? How much over invoice are you paying? Any hidden fees, like dealer prep or dealer fee, tag agency fees (which go to their captive agency to handle title work and not the government), etc.? If the front end is fair, then a very good trade offer.

Regards,
Jerry

That's is a good number on your M5,,, they are over allowing by about 9k as I am a dealer and at the auction they are going for around 40- 45 with low miles,,.

That really is an outstanding offer. The dealer is going to make no money on that car. I would sign some papers or something and get the deal going in a hurry.

YES THIS IS A GOOD DEAL!!!!!!!! I would definitely take this, and maybe find a new 2008 E92 M3. Unless you are looking for DCT, there are still some brand new 08s on dealer lots. An almost fully loaded one sold at my local dealer for 51k about a month ago. Think about it, getting into a new M3 for only 1k out of pocket!!!!!!!!

that is nuts, You need to take that deal right now. There is no way you'd get 50 privately. Even if you pay sticker for the m3 you're still ahead.
