Singh or ESS? Which should I choose?

Singh wants $1400 (does not include ELC). ESS wants $800. That's a pretty big difference. The real question is, are the power numbers that much of a difference to support the difference in cost?

Anyone here have ESS? Is it very noticeable over stock?

I have never heard of Singh but i can tell you i did have ess tune I (their old tune) and the only thing i got out of it was

- smoother shifting

- top speed limiter removed

- was supposed to have a higher redline but didnt.

Then i did tune by RPI/Powerchip and got a 10whp improvemnt over ESS.

ESS say they have a tune that is better than their old tune with hp gains but i doubt anyone have tried it yet. Anyone?

Attchached is my ess tune then with my tune by RPI who uses powerchip.

Eurocarfan has the Singh tune on his car, you can contact him for more information. I have heard good things about the Singh tune, although youtube videos and dyno charts seem to be lacking.

He's been asking me about software tunes for the last six months or more. Last I heard, he's going with the ESS/RPI tune.

Calton, why don't you try the latest Window 7 upgrade instead.

I just want to clear some things up. First, the ESS tune is $1295 and not $800. How we started with ESS is because Rabdog had the ESS tune on his car and he had some questions about the tune. Like any good company with excellent customer service, ESS responded (which at first I didnt think would come through) and came all the way out here and tuned the car. Maybe those with earlier ESS tunes had issues but I saw for myself what their new tune does. I have heard good things about the Singh tune but have never tested it for myself so I wont say anything about it until I personally dyno it. Those of you who know me know Im a straight shooter and Im only telling you what I see for myself. The PC and ESS (new tune) both did very well in my books.
