Seeing your video, I am wondering which needle actually moved faster during the clip.
The tachometer or the fuel needle?
He he!

Was only 10mph difference between HuD and the GPS, I assume the gps meters for speed cameras are accurate? Without wanting to say which toll road, er track sorry, there is decent downslope for about a 2-4 mile run, UK members will surely know where this "track" is.... if you can get to the start of this stretch at around 195, its quite easy to get past 200 on the GPS, and even at 208 it wasn;t quite touching 8000rpm.

Had a video of this, but it atracted a little too much attention! Will make another sometime, in a more discreat manner.

So you reached 218 mph on the speedo?? That's close to 350 km/h. I am not saying you're lying, I am just very surprised. Are you basing your gps speed on a ticket you once got? The difference between speedometer and gps is not always the same percentage. Usually the higher the speed, the bigger the difference. But I do welcome your new video. Did Russ actually tell this board what his HUD was displaying at top speed? Anyone?

BMW North America

Says 211.27 confirmed for our M6's stock. I don't see why a 5 couldn't get 208. Unless I am missing something here.

The speedo stops indicating at 211 mph. At the same time the car dropped out of MDM mode and DSC completely disengaged (without my intervention), however the car continued to accelerate (on the GPS) while the speedo stopped and froze at 211 mph.

You wrote about GPS speed in this sentence. Where does it say the 208 was on the speedometer or HUD?
