Stroker update thread

Since my break-in and initlal oil change, I have put on about 3k miles and the car is pulling even stronger. Apparently, the stroker engines are known to get stronger after several thousand miles. I recently easily ran a 3.9 second 0-60 on my Performance Box, and that is without using LC or a drop clutch launch--just easing on the throttle to prevent any initial wheelspin. Makes me think that a 3.7 second 0-60 is possible with optimal conditions (and an optimal driver). Just today I ran (on a safe closed course) with a modified (aftermarket exhaust without cats) Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 roadster with estimated 700 crank horsepower. I expected it to be close but didn't expect to be dead even from 7.0-12.0.

Would be great if the other board members with stroker engines would post their impressions here as well

awesome.. i've always wanted to stoke my m5. maybe i'll stroke the 2010.. if I don't like the 2012 (doubt I wont) then i'll keep the 2010 and defiantly stroke it.

thanks for the update.

Thanks for sharing you experience xray!!! 3.9 seconds is super car quick! You must be very happy with the result. Do you have the chance to run with a 599GTB? I'm still waiting for the completion of my stroker. Hopefully, i can contribute more to this thread in near future....

Thank you for this thread, I will really enjoy to read about these monster M´s! An even run against a tuned LP640 is just nuts, my god

Do it

There are a few board members here who shall remain nameless who were successful at pushing me off the fence. After writing the check I was worried about buyer's remorse, but so far my conscience is clear. Then again I don't have a wife, so the decision was easier for me than for you.

599's are exceedingly rare here; I have only seen one or two ever, while I have seen about a dozen LP640's. Hopefully M5 V10 will scare one up soon, as he seems to know the owner of each and every exotic car in metro Atlanta.

Freudian slip? I think I was a bit defiant myself to get a stroker rather than waiting for the TT V8 in the next generation. That said, my daughter is off to college next fall, so there is a very remote possibility that I would consider getting the next generation M6 if I can be convinced (still keeping the M5 of course).

That is what I plan on doing. Getting the new generation M6 and keeping my M5 and stroking it. Did you have yours done at Performing Imports?
