Panamera Turbo doing 0-62 mph in just 3.9 sec? With only 500 hp? Porsche really knows how to write down the numbers
Didn´t get it though why the M5 was last? Seems like it always looses points for the SMG and because it´s "old". For me personally the Panamera is last, it´s sooo ugly!!
This test is off. I personally drove and tested the XFR on the street and on the track and it was nowhere near being better than the M5. After I got back into my M5, it just felt so much better in everything. The quality of the Jag interior was also no where near our cars. Thus, I'm having a hard time believing that it was ranked better when it clearly is not a better car. Even the track instructor and the Jag presenter admitted that the M5 was better.

Seems like this test was more to see which one is the best "every day" and overall saloon. M5 is still drivers car if you look at slalom and steering, most points. It looses points for fuel consumption, range and traction to mention a few things.
Still a good test, it shows figures for everything, not only driving.
I saw the panamera today and words can't describe how ugly and un exciting it looked. The turbo is so stupid expensive for that car. I didn't like that shoooosh sounds it makes, also I believe there is so many better option for the price. I have a felling the new M5 will keep it's crown of being the best super sedan. I hear it will be called "his royal al mighty highness king of all kings the great one and only M5"

I sat in all 3 of the new Panamera models today and can't help but wonder if the S is a good lineup vs. the M3, and the turbo is the competitor with the M5 (but for $40-50k more). If it was just performance vs. performance, I'm not sure the Porsche is worth it.
Given the E60 is in its final year of production, I would not expect magazines to give it one of the highest ratings. However, out of all cars in that list, I'd almost definitely choose the M5. Panamera is too ugly, RS6 aint in America, and the XF just seems like way less of a drivers' car. The only one I'd really consider would be the E63 (assuming they improve the MCT tranny's reliability). Its more nimble than the new one, shifts faster, and looks pretty good IMO.
@gustav good this thest at home will scan it if i find it again. Up to 200kmh the panamera was the fastest 13,9 sec but after that the m5 with 14,2 was second
I think that was a good result..

I drove the new E63 at length a few days ago, it was much better in terms of overall feel but it really didn't seem any faster then the previous generation. Likely the 525hp is overrated for marketing like AMG often does.
I'd take the M5 any day of the week...

Now you'd be sane to buy car like that, it is a true beauty even though I don't like mercs. The panamera looks like those really old Citroën or a funeral car.
