My i-Phone connection works fine, except that it needs to be re-paired/reconnected (Bluetooth) every time after re-starting the car...........very very frustrating. I have the 3G, NOT the 3G'S and it's an 06 M5 with latest software as of April 2009. It is baffling why the bluetooth disconnects when you turn-off the ignition but won't re-pair/reconnect on re-start. I have taken it to the BMW service department more than six times to no avail. Any help, experience and solution to this nagging problem? Appreciating your replies.......
I seem to recall a setting for Bluetooth (either on the phone or in the iDrive setting) asking to OK the connection each time or remember it permanently....
I have a 2006 with a first generation iPhone and mine pairs everytime I turn on the car. I'm not sure what version of s/w I have on my car, but it was updated approx. a year ago. A couple of questions: Have you upgraded the iPhone via iTunes? And if so, are you on the latest software?
