Fellow M5BOARD member, the MOST amazing story of 2009, easily.

Before the long run on sentence scares you away, please read. It's well worth it.

Well, it's the most amazing thing thats happened to me. It's about 2:30 AM central standard time in Chicago, and I'm driving down home from playing some pool. Im in the right lane, its a red light. It turns green and I slowly ease on the gas as some white "construction" van zooms past me on the right avoiding parked cars. I get pissed off and right away punch it to see who this ******* is, I quickly hit 60 catching up as I see a cop with his lights off about 250 feet to the right. I said "oh sh!t". I slam on my brakes right away, not like he didn't hear or see me with my 7k white angel eyes and Eisenmann race. He pulls up behind me and turns on his lights within seconds. He comes up and says "Good morning, I'm officer ******, how are you this morning?" I replied something along the lines off "Good officer, I swear I dont speed like this, it just that that guy....." he cut me off and said, "I know I know, I saw what happened. This is the M5 right, V10, 500HP?"...I reply "yes, yes, yes" ....as I'm puzzled. We chatted for a couple of minutes and he said he wasn't going to give me a ticket, that he loves cars so on and so forth. I jokingly said sir, thank you, do you want a ride? He replied, really? He said follow me, so I did. We parked in a very poorly lit street then went on a 4 lane empty street where he asked me to show him what the car could do...P500S, S6...I quickly hit 135 and slowed down. He was just planted in the seat amazed. He kept on raving and raving saying how my car sounds like nothing he's ever seen and that he's surprised he hasn't seen me before since he patroles there all the time. There was a lot of small talk and through this small talk we discussed the traffic cameras, he showed me how to go through a red light without setting it off. I actually sat in his squad as he drove through like 3 red lights and took rights while it was red. It was hilarious I couldn't believe what was happening. The next thing I asked him if we could do is if we could test out my Laser Interceptor laser jammers, I have the quads. He said sure lets go haha. So he parked about 1200-1300 feet away he said. I maintained a speed of about 40mph and my laser jammers went off and kept going off prompting me to slow down. When we pulled over to the side to discuss it he said he couldn't get a speed AT ALL. When I was 1300 feet away up to the point when I passed him. he also said that he clocked the guy right next to me and he could always get his speed but not mine. Im very happy about that and that they actually work perfectly. After we talked I said do you wanna go drive my car to see how it drives? He said "Really!?" ...like a kid in a candy store. So we went down the street about a half a mile as he's upshifting at about 6k and getting the car up to 85mph. He was then down shifting making the revs jump and the exhaust howl how it does. We exchanged numbers and he said he'd call me so we can get lunch and cruise in the M5 because he loves it so much. There's just so much I want to write but I would be repeating myself. This was an unforgettable night. This below is a picture of me holding the laser gun in his squad. Hope you guys enjoyed the read. And I know some of you wont approve of everything I did but the streets were empty when I was doing my quick stint...and well, a cop told me to do it

WOW!! That was a pretty interesting read! I've met some easy going friendly cops in my time but that has got to be the friendliest cop experience of all time. Kind of reminds me of a lion befriending a rabbit

Great story. It must have been a REALLY slow night shift if he had all this time to talk to you and be in the M5. I love how the officer showed you the in's and out's of your laser jammer. Not to mention how to go through red lights without setting traffic cameras off. Definitely a once in a lifetime story, and it's all because of the M5

Wow, that almost sounds like a dream. After seeing how the Atlanta cops have been behaving as of late, it is good to hear stories like this.

ideliver, what part of Ohio are you from?

To the OP, awesome story!! We have 3 state troopers in our little "crew" here in central/souther OH. Its cool to hear their stories. Its also WICKED cool when we all go driving cause we pretty much have carte' blanche on the highways with them in our line. 2 M3's and a Porsche 911.

Very cool story thanks for sharing.

Nice story. So how do you go through a red light without setting it off?
