V1 Rear View Mirror Install - E60 M5

Installing the main V1 unit in a E60 M5 requires a small modification to the map light assembly. Radar will pass through pretty much anything except metal. There isn't enough room to fit the V1 between the map light and front support beam so we modified the map light to make room for the radar detector. If anyone wants to keep laser detection you can simply cut a small window in the front of the headliner. Most have opted to let the laser function go. As you can see from the pics the left side light knob and power connectors have been altered to make room for the V1. We desolder the power connectors and reverse the orientation and remove the light bulb knob and directly solder the bulb to the circuit board. We will perform the mod to the map light for free for E60 owners that want to take advantage of our V1 RVM Group Buy.
