New Active Autowerke Catback Exhaust Install 2007 E60 M5

After MUCH deliberation and pouring over every clip on Youtube, all the threads here and elsewhere...I ordered, recieved and installed my AA full catback exhaust.

I was looking for a real F1 sound, I wanted low end rumble. I DID NOT want something overly raspy, ridiculously loud or something that sounded foreign to the M5.

I can't begin to tell you how sweet this setup is. I can't believe more people haven't posted about this system as it is definitely the best sounding exhaust that I've heard (MY opinion) Build quality was impeccable, install was easy...and I shaved an incredible amount of weight off my car.

I'm going to shoot some video and audio in the next week or so... I'll post them when their done. But for now, here are some quick snaps of thie install.

Quick Snaps
Stock Cans - HUGE and VERY HEAVY

AA Cans - saved like 30 pounds each side just on the cans.

Lots of stainless - nice and clean.

Stock Section 1 and 2

Section 1 - straight pipes - secondary cat delete.

AA Section 1 and 2 (Notice no resonator)

X Pipe fresh out da box

I'm glad they fit perfectly for you... some others on here had a tough time getting the AA system to fit properly. Especially the left muffler...
I have an M6, it went on nicely... but still have a little issue with the left side... I constantly have to adjust it.
Having said that, it is one of the best sounding system out there.. I've heard this system coupled with RDSport Headers and its even sweeter!!!!

Just curious if you really read all the threads. Here's a good one to look at, prior to purchasing.

Active Autowerke exhaust asymmetry?

Didn't see that one Damn

I didn't have as many issues as you seem to have...but I did notice that the right was a bit lower than the left.

My exhaust did require a bit of manipulation to the "hangar pieces" sorry for the terminology or lack thereof.
It took the shop 10 mins or so to heat them up and bend them slightly for proper fit.
