I paid Vivid Racing here in AZ $550 for springs, install (front only) and alignment. Obviously you aren't in AZ, but just for reference. If you just want a nice balanced look, without the (from what I hear) harsher, much lower ride of the H&R, this is the way to go. The look immediately after install was close to level with rear and the ride is identical to stock. I figure after a couple hundred miles, it will settle a little more and be exactly the same height as rear if not a tad lower. I basically wanted the stance of the 550, which I don't understand why the M5 didn't come that way to begin with. The rear is low enough already, but had they been installed, I was afraid I would have ended up with the same saggy *** look the car had already, which it would have. If your main goal is to improve aesthetics, slightly more agressive stance and same ride, this is the only way to go...and you can't beat the cost.

A little OT, but installed the front spring set ONLY? Will it be even more off-balance in term of weight ratio (52/50 ratio between front/rear)? I know with coilover when doing corner balance, lower==more weight. Any performance differences in term of under/oversteer with just front spring installed? Not just ride quality but through the twistie.

I am so new to all this, not sure that I would know what over/understeer would feel like. I plan to do some track days in the near future, so maybe an instructor can explain to me more of what I'm feeling and how the car is handling. Nevertheless, this car is just a lease and an interim vehicle to figure out exactly what I want for long term, so I did not want to foot the expense on coilovers.
