Ive raced everything from Civics to Gallardos's. The Gallardo embarrassed me up top of course because after 130-140 the bike is kind of sluggish. Ive beaten many 360z's and supercharged G35's. I've played around with an M once but we weren't really racing I was just keeping up with him at around 130. I dont want to talk about the many things I've done because on here people would call me a young ignorant kid.

Well being and owner of a M5 and 2 bikes , 2007 ZX10 (1000cc) and a 2006 ZX14 (1400 cc) I am in a unique position to comment I know my M5 is fast but compared to my ZX10 it can't keep up. And forget about the ZX14. If you think you have experienced speed, you have never felt nothing like the rush you get when you open up a ZX14 .

(this requires that you momentarily slightly roll-off the throttle, move the shift lever to the next gear NO CLUTCH and get back on full throttle as soon as possible). If the rider cannot do this, then he will loose a couple of tenths of a second each shift by using the clutch and the engine will lose rpm's between every shift.

The LiterBikes have such a tall first gear, that they reach 104 mph in FIRST!!!! This literally is to stop them flipping over under full power and nailing the rider into the asphalt...
107 mph on th ZX10r

Clutch less change can be done by just loading the gear lever then when the bike hits the rev limiter this unloads the gear box and it snicks into the next gear but on a 1000cc bike it will try to flip or wheel spin or both at over a 100 mph.

Also people talk about being on it, on a bike bellow 140ish mph you can't just mash the throttle you have to roll on or you'll flip, its only after 150 you can stretch the throttle cables and just go.

I notice in the video clip Gustav posted its raining, you would beat a bike in a Mini One lol!

The bikers on here are all saying the same from experience of having both bikes and the M5/M6, those that say anything different are the ones who only do 4 wheels... speaks volumes.

I love both just know which are quicker, just check out in gear acceleration times, 0-100, 0-150, 0-180 and 1/4 mile on google

Though I don't ride, my dad is a big time rider. He has a 2004 Yamaha R1 (dyno'd 165 wheel hp), 2000 FZ1, 2006 Kawasaki ZX14 (185 wheel hp), an 08 Yamaha R6 (115 wheel hp), and he just recently sold his Aprilia RSV Mille Factory.

The one's with listed dyno numbers are ones which have been modified and tuned. The FZ1 is modded as well, but it has carbs rather than fuel injection and he never got it dyno'd. It is somewhere between 140-150 whp though.

Anyway, long story short, there is no way in hell an M5 could ever keep up to any 1000cc or greater bike at realistic speeds. If you were to race from say, 180 up to top speed, then maybe the M5 would have a chance since some of the stock bikes might not actually hit 200. But against something like a ZX14, haha...don't bother. At any speed to any speed, the ZX14 would win. ZX14's with identical mods to my dad's ZX14 have seen quarter mile times in the low to mid 9's.

To put it simply, a ZX14 has the same if not more acceleration than a Veyron.

However, against a 600cc bike, it depends at what speeds you race up to. After about 130 the 600cc bikes really slow down and the M5 would just drive past it, but a 600cc bike will still do very low quarter mile times compared to a car.

But I'm sorry guys, those $10,000 crotch rockets will walk all over our mighty beasts.

Well put Revo, the data out there backs this up.

Aty the end of the day a crap rider is like a crap car driver, you have the tackle but not the knowlledge or skill to back it up and you could well loose to a unmatched slower competitor.

Keep bike baiting guys, we love the chance to race, just don't hang on to our back tyre use the other lanes or keep a distance, if we roll off or sit up its like a big air brake we will just stop and you will have no warning and wipe us out... talking from painful experience.

Jay
