iPhone 3.0 [& iPhone3GS] + BMW iDrive = working OK

Copy of this post on my blog for board members with iPhones:

As many of you may know, historically Apple updates have had a tendency to break BMW iDrive communicating with iPhones to sync contacts and make/receive calls.
Apple’s latest update, iPhone 3.0, is launched today (17th June 2009) and I thought I’d let you all know that I’ve had iPhone 3.0 up and running on my iPhone 3G a little early. I’m happy to report that over the last 7 days the iPhone has been working flawlessly with my BMW iDrive, all contacts have been syncing and calls received and made without any issues.
So rest assured you can update your iPhone software to iPhone 3.0 and continue to drive safely with your iPhone fully connected to your iDrive.

Thanks Scoopz, you are always a great help.
Is your 3.0 OS jailbroken or unlocked as well?

What about bluetooth audio? Does your ipod play through the stereo without plugging in? I haven't made it home to update yet.

When bluetooth audio was announced, I was so pumped. My thought was, Sirius app. would be released soon, which it did last night, and then you could just start the Sirius app. and play in the car through bluetooth rather than plugging in. (seeing as my car did not come with satellite radio) And same goes for Pandora, ipod, etc.

I tried this last night and could not get it to work. Don't see any way to get the car to recognize anything more than just the phone.

If anyone else has any ideas, please let me know.
