Their latest measures to bring efficiency to driving without killing the fun will include pre-start oils and water heating using house current. This will mean you can get in a drive off in an already warmed-through vehicle.
Not a totally new idea, I used to keep the sump/oil pan of my Flintstonemobile "warm" with a kerosene heater, and my old Rover 2000 actually had an electric immersion heater inset into the engine block.
I believe some countries including Scandinavia and Canada had (have?) the option of aftermarket gasoline burning devices to warm the engine, although that was probably to ensure the heater worked well from the off.
