Butt Dyno After RPI

I inherited some RPI scoops, filters and block off plates from a fellow board member. After installation, while the accelerlation seems a bit smoother, the car defninitely does not shift as violently as it used to. Because of this, it is perceived to me to feel slower. Am I just trippin?

I think scoop/filter has nothing to do with shifting.

Keang

I hear ya, but my perception is that if the car is pulling harder then it will shift harder. Is this not the case?

Shifting harder is controlled by the shift program, not by power.

Yeah I must be trippin. I have the SMG set to S5 always so that shouldnt be the difference. Does it take time for the MAFs to adjust at all?

How about this theory.

The car is accelerating faster and so it is thrustng forward more when you shift so that you are actually going faster into the next gear and it hits less violently. I have no idea if that is true.

You should be in S-6 for acceleration fun anyway.

i think in a 500+hp car the "butt" dyno for such a small hp gain is unlikely to be accurate

subconsciously feels faster because you want it to...
