Jesus, there's crap everywhere.

SW, be sure to take a picture of the box of "extra" parts they give you on the way out.

Thus the 20k core. If a customer wanted to keep the original engine, Dinan would have to buy an engine block from BMW to make the next stroker. Probably a lot easier for a customer to get the discount from Dinan by shipping the stock engine than it is to put it up for sale, unless of course there is someone who is willing to spend more than 20k on a used motor.
Yes, I under stand this and why they do it (to reduce turn-around time).

However, If I recall, SW went and bought a brand new engine block and some other parts to be Stroked, so can't he send that back as his core deposit?

SW, you mind clearing this up? I'm having a hard time understanding how you ended up starting with two engine blocks and the ended up with only one.

Great news, that is just so fun to have a Dinan stroker in Hong Kong! I love it.

Please keep us updated as well on the installation process!

Just as if it were originally from BMW. The new engine utilizes all the electronics from your old engine, all you need to do is send the ECU back to DINAN to re program with the 5.7 liter software. This is what impressed me so far about DINAN. The stroker project was well planned with future reliability and maintenance as a priority. The car will be ready in a couple of days so we will find out soon enough!

I believe it's the first installation in Asia, more to follow I hope. I will try to update with driving experiences as the engine is already installed.
