maybe just a crazy idea but perhaps you can sell the stock motor they are pulling out to sharpie? He is the one gonig through the warranty issues with his motor and is looking for a new one.....
I would love to, but his block has a whole in it so it would not be a good core to give back to Dinan.. their core charge is $20k!

They just take a stock engine, replace a lot of stock internals and modify the block itself. I don't see why they would even need any of the stock parts that got removed?

Dinan retains the stock cylinder heads with a new gasket. Polishes the ports and resets the valves.
But SW went and bought a new engine from BMW to be stroked...so why do they need his old one?
Not sure if I am answering your question, but Dinan would use SW's original stock engine block (customer #1) to build the next stroker engine for customer #2, whose exchanged engine block would be in turn be used to build the next stroker for customer #3, and so on and so on...
Thus the 20k core. If a customer wanted to keep the original engine, Dinan would have to buy an engine block from BMW to make the next stroker. Probably a lot easier for a customer to get the discount from Dinan by shipping the stock engine than it is to put it up for sale, unless of course there is someone who is willing to spend more than 20k on a used motor.

Thanks for clarifying this, because I thought that Dinan modified the existing engine, wondered why SW had another engine installed.
But you answered my question...
