MD good question. I miss my M5 so much. At times I forget I own one.
I spoke with ASR (Abid) last night and this first time undertaking is no routine project. I do have total trust and confidence in Abid. I just need patience. I am only guessing but hopefully 6 to 8 weeks.
By all educated estimations this will translate to significant power.
Right now am looking for a nice used M5 or M6 for a sweet DD.
I do not want to use the GT3RS as a DD.
Cheers
Ranger
Good luck with everything, Ranger. I was with out my M6 for just 4 weeks and it sucked. Although, you get to fall in love with the car all over again which is pretty nice! What are the estimated HP and torque numbers after the install?

So Rick you did it. I know you've have contemplated this for a while.
Congrats on the making the move.
For me I do not believe I'll hit on the local stroker. I just can't make the 6MT wash. For me it was a serious disappointment.
Also the dealer does not want to deal. In todays economy, go figure.
Man I miss my M5
Keep us posted.

Juan, I didn't think you would like the 6spd after driving the SMG., If you want to, you can come here and drive my car to get your fix until your monster gets done...

It is tough to be patient after driving such a great car--hopefully yours will be ready sooner than later. I believe you made the right decision on not getting the 6 speed (dealer's loss). Given your doubts about the car, at the end of the day you would probably regret the decision. At the same time, you might want to keep your eyes on Ebay and Autotrader to see if a better deal, or even another stroker, comes along.

Scott the limits are the SMG and drivetrain. This engine build has serious potential. Each turbo can flow 650 rwhp.
The build comes with a new high performance clutch ( tolerance of > 1000 lb/ft of torque). Abid believes the SMG will handle 750 to 800 rwhp. If anyone knows, he does. IMHO the guy's a motorsport genius.
Those would be nice numbers to live with. I wonder if the diff and axles are going to scream, "I give up".
Regardless I'd love to run 9's and 140 trap with the E60 M5.
Cheers
Juan

George, the monoballs are reported to make a bit of noise and stiffen up the car a bit more. I wasnt sure what I was getting with the monoballs whereas the Camber Plates I knew would help on the track. It saved me about 800-900 bucks and I can use that on race pads or the cost of two driving schools.

What a nice offer though I'd bet he expects a return offer once the snails are installed

Juan, wow those are some serious numbers. Where I live I don't have easy access to a "tuner". Even the Dinan dealer is 125 miles away. Might as well take advantage if you live there. Sounds like you will have a blast when she is done!

I agree with your thoughts. The camber plates are a must but the monoballs are a "nice to have" at $900 plus install.
